Volunteers help girls recognize their strengths, try difficult things, and see themselves as capable. Some mentor every Monday; others share a skill, support an event, or help behind the scenes.

Choose a weekly, occasional, remote, or leadership role. Every contribution helps create a consistent place for girls in grades 4–8 to grow.
Mondays, September to May

Site Coordinator — leads a location, its volunteers, and its families. If this sounds like you, say so on the application and we’ll start a conversation.
Becoming a mentor
What we ask
Mentors build trust through consistent presence, thoughtful listening, and a willingness to help girls practice courage, kindness, and follow-through.
A living faith
You’re a believer in Jesus Christ and an active member of a local church.
Eighteen or older
Mentors are women aged 18 and up. Several other roles are open to teens.
Two references
Including one from your church. We do contact them.
A background check
Every regular volunteer aged 18 or over is background checked.
Training
A training session with Maker Girls staff before you serve.
Weekly consistency
Mentors serve Mondays from 4–6 p.m., September through May.
Not sure you’re qualified?
You don’t need to be a teacher, or crafty, or have it all together. You need to be willing to show up and pay attention. We train the rest.
For churches
Bring your community into the work
Churches and community partners can host, send volunteers, share practical skills, provide resources, or sponsor the program.

Provide snacks
Feed a room full of girls. Simple, recurring, and genuinely needed every week.
Send a speaker
Someone in your congregation knows business, photography, law, music, or fashion design. One afternoon.
Write grants
Use a professional skill to strengthen the ministry’s future. Project-based and remote.
Send mentors
Women 18 and over, active in your church. This is the biggest ask and the biggest difference.
Partner financially
Sponsor a girl or a whole club for a year. See sponsorship →
Partner with us
Help create more places for girls to grow
Churches, schools, libraries, businesses, and community organizations can help Maker Girls reach more girls in grades 4–8.
Host a program
Provide a welcoming space where girls can gather, create, talk honestly, and learn.
Share skills and resources
Offer professional expertise, practical materials, volunteers, or community connections.
Sponsor the work
Help cover program materials, snacks, volunteer screening, and the tools girls use to learn by doing.
In kind
Give supplies instead of time
Art and craft supplies, snacks, hygiene products, Bibles, and high tea decor all get used. If you’d rather donate materials than serve on site, we’ll gladly take them.
