Made with purpose. Growing with courage.

Growing capable girls with strong hearts

Maker Girls is a Christian-rooted mentoring and life-skills program where girls in grades 4–8 build confidence through creative projects, business basics, honest conversations, and caring mentors.

Practical skills, strong character, and steady wisdom for the road ahead.

“Every girl who walks in here is already carrying something worth building on. Our job is to help her find it, practice it, and use it well.”

Our mission

Confidence with character

Through a biblical foundation, our mission is to help girls grow into confident, capable, and compassionate young women — through mentoring, practical life skills, and creative learning.

Our vision

We envision girls who know their worth, use wisdom, take responsibility, build healthy relationships, develop their gifts, serve others, and meet challenges with courage and perseverance.

Our approach

Five parts of one whole-girl approach

Each Monday gives girls room to belong, practice useful skills, grow in character, and connect faith to everyday decisions.

Mentoring and belonging

Caring women listen, encourage, and make room for every girl to be known.

Hands-on learning

Creative projects turn ideas into action and give girls a safe place to try, adjust, and try again.

Practical capability

Girls practice money basics, communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, and follow-through.

Character development

Honesty, generosity, courage, kindness, perseverance, and service become habits through practice.

Biblical perspective

Stories and principles that connect enduring values — honesty, courage, generosity, perseverance — to a girl’s relationships, choices, gifts, and responsibilities.

The character journey

Made with purpose → learning what guides you → given to give → growing strong roots → honest hearts → brave and kind → made to make.

Across the year, girls explore who they are, what shapes their choices, how their gifts can serve others, and how courage and kindness become part of everyday life.

A clear Christian foundation

Faith and welcome

Maker Girls is openly Christian. We use Bible stories and principles to explore courage, wisdom, honesty, generosity, perseverance, and service.

Girls do not need a church background to participate. We welcome families from many backgrounds, and simply ask that they be comfortable with that foundation.

It is connected to real life through conversation, reflection, and journaling—with room for girls to listen, ask questions, and grow.

Jazlynn is an educator and mentor who believes girls learn best by doing. She graduated from DePaul University, taught in classrooms, and earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

She created Maker Girls by Design from a love of teaching, a deep respect for the strengths girls already carry, and a hope that they would grow in practical wisdom and in faith.

Girls growing with courage

Maker Girls meets every Monday from 4–6 p.m., September through May, for girls in grades 4–8.
